Michael Duff: 'Sean Dyche could manage England'

Burnley defender Michael Duff believes that Sean Dyche has the potential to take on the England job in the future.

Burnley defender Michael Duff has insisted that there is no reason why Sean Dyche could not be given the responsibility of managing England in the future.

Despite having one of the lowest budgets in the Championship last season, Dyche managed to steer the Clarets to the Premier League and his unfancied side still have a good opportunity to fight off relegation with eight games remaining in this campaign.

Dyche has won plaudits for the job he has done at Turf Moor, and Duff believes that his manager does have the ability to take charge of England.

When asked if he would be surprised to see Dyche manage the national side, Duff told reporters: "No, in a word, having worked with him and the way he gets the best out of players.

"Most of our players have played the majority of their careers in the Championship or lower than that and we are competing against multi, multi-million pound squads and we are alive and kicking.

"So, he has managed to get the best out of us. If he can do that at a higher level, why not?"

Burnley, who host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, are currently one point adrift of safety in 18th.
