Ben Mee hoping for more East Lancashire derby bragging rights

Ben Mee admits that he is looking forward to Burnley's "massive" local derby with Blackburn Rovers, where he will be looking to make it five without defeat.

Burnley defender Ben Mee has said that he is hopeful of making it five without defeat against Blackburn Rovers in this weekend's East Lancashire derby.

The 26-year-old has proved to be a good omen in recent meetings between the arch-rivals, having yet to taste defeat in the local showdown.

Mee was shown a red card when the sides met in March 2013, but he still has plenty of happy memories - including a starring role in the last encounter - which he is hopeful of adding to on Saturday lunchtime.

"We've done well in recent years," the Burnley Express quotes him as saying. "It was nice to get the win there last time - it meant so much to everybody - and hopefully we can repeat that.

"I'm unbeaten in four against them and we could probably have won them all. It's been going well recently and another result would be nice. It's massive game for us. It was a big moment to win there the other season."

Burnley head into the match sitting in fifth place, while Blackburn are 10 points worse off in 17th.
