Bromley vs Wycombe - prediction, team news, lineups

In the second round of the EFL Cup, Bromley will welcome Wycombe Wanderers to Copperjax Community Stadium on Tuesday.

The fourth-tier hosts held Notts County to a 2-2 stalemate on Saturday in the league, and League One Wycombe also drew 2-2 on Saturday, sharing the spoils with Reading.

Match preview

Bromley netted an equaliser in the 83rd minute against Notts County, and though they managed to avoid defeat, boss Andy Woodman will still be alarmed by the fact his side only mustered one shot in the first half.

Woodman's team are sixth in League Two with 11 points from five matches, scoring eight goals while conceding on five occasions.

The Ravens managed to defeat Championship opponents Ipswich Town on penalties after drawing 1-1 in the prior round of the EFL Cup on August 12, and they have already advanced further in this season's edition of the competition than they did in 2024-25.

Bromley are yet to experience a loss in any of their six games this term - winning three matches - and they also won three and drew one of their final four outings in their previous campaign.

The hosts have only triumphed in regular time once at home in three games in 2025-26, but they achieved victories in each of their last three fixtures at Copperjax Community Stadium in 2024-25.

Wycombe Wanderers rescued a point against Reading when they netted their second goal in the 89th minute, but they will feel they should have claimed three points considering they faced no big chances while creating two of their own.

The visitors are fourth last in 21st place with two points from five fixtures, and they have scored five and conceded eight times in their 2025-26 League One campaign.

Manager Mike Dodds oversaw a 1-0 triumph against Leyton Orient in the previous round of the EFL Cup on August 12, though his side only advanced thanks to a 94th-minute own goal.

The Blues are winless in three games - losing once - and they have conceded first in seven of their last 11 competitive outings.

Wycombe have won one, drawn one and lost one of their three matches on the road, and they were also beaten in three of their final five matches away from home, winning the other two clashes.

Team News

Bromley are likely to deploy a similar starting XI to the one they used against Ipswich, with central defenders Omar Sowunmi, Idris Odutayo, Deji Elerewe candidates to appear.

Defensive midfielder Jude Arthurs may play alongside number eights Ben Krauhaus and Ben Thompson, while strikers Nicke Kabamba and Marcus Dinanga will hope to retain their places.

As for Wycombe, Dan Casey and Anders Hagelskjaer marshalled their defence against Leyton Orient, and the centre-backs will be at the forefront of Dodds's mind for Tuesday's game.

The visitors could select George Abbott and Caolan Boyd-Munce in a double pivot, and the duo will be expected to support number 10 Magnus Westergaard.

Wide attackers James Tilley and Fred Onyedinma may be asked to play either side of centre-forward Cameron Stones.

Bromley possible starting lineup:

Long; Sowunmi, Odutayo, Elerewe; Ifill, Thompson, Arthurs, Krauhaus, Pinnock; Kabamba, Dinanga

Wycombe Wanderers possible starting lineup:

Norris; Back, Casey, Hagelskjaer, Hartridge; Abbott, Boyd-Munce; Tilley, Westergaard, Onyedinma; Stones

We say: Bromley 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers

Bromley have shown that they are capable of eliminating sides from higher divisions, and they will take confidence from their triumph against Ipswich.

Wycombe Wanderers' start to the 2025-26 campaign has been poor, and they may encounter difficulties against their hosts, who have been difficult to beat.
