Wigan Athletic to speak to Nicky Maynard

Wigan Athletic have been given permission to speak to Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard.

The 25-year-old has been expected to leave the Championship side after failing to agree a new contract at Ashton Gate.

It is understood that Premier League outfit Wigan have been permitted to speak to the frontman over a possible move to the DW Stadium, according to Sky Sports News.

Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers have all been linked with moves for the forward.
