Bristol City confirm talks with Tom Heaton

Bristol City have said that they are in talks with goalkeeper Tom Heaton, confirming recent speculation that the two parties were in discussions.

The former Cardiff City stopper is reportedly being tracked by a number of Championship clubs, but Robins manager Derek McInnes has confirmed that his side are looking to wrap up a deal.

"We are in discussions with Tom and his representatives," McInnes told the Bristol Evening Post.

"He has been with us for around ten days now, a few days in Bristol before coming to Spain with us.

"There could be a deal to be done, but there is nothing further at this stage."

The former Manchester United trainee made 29 league appearances for Cardiff.
