O'Driscoll: 'Performances are vital'

Sean O'Driscoll says that Bristol City fans need to understand that good performances are as crucial as picking up victories.

Bristol City manager Sean O'Driscoll has insisted that supporters must realise that performances on the field are as vital as positive results.

The Robins remain at the bottom of the Championship table, despite securing a late 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday yesterday.

"I am acutely aware it's results that will determine our fate this season, and I'm also acutely aware there are people who still don't grasp what I mean when I say I have to concentrate on performances, not results, because surely at this stage of the season results are the only thing that will make a difference to our league position?" said O'Driscoll.

"Of course results dictate everything, and of course I understand supporters' concerns are only with the results with games running out. But how do you just suddenly click your fingers and make results happen if the players don't understand what they need to do to try and win every game they play?"

City will travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley this Saturday.
