Half-Time Report: Kieran Agard strike gives Bristol City lead

Hull City concede for the first time in five games as Kieran Agard puts Bristol City 1-0 up at half time.

A Kieran Agard goal has given Bristol City a 1-0 lead at half time against Hull City in the Championship's early kickoff at Ashton Gate.

The Robins started brightly after a mistake by Michael Dawson handed the ball to Jonathan Kodjia, but his volleyed effort was wide of the goal.

Bristol then forced a good save from Alan McGregor on 13 minutes, as a Luke Freeman free kick forced the Scottish goalkeeper to tip the ball over the bar.

Hull came close midway through the first half as centre-back Harry Maguire was allowed to venture forward into space, but his 25-yard strike pushed over by Frank Fielding.

However, it was Steve Cotterill's men who took the lead after a goal-mouth scramble fell to the feet of Agard, who turned quickly to fire the ball home from close range.

The Tigers almost pulled themselves level immediately as Jake Livermore hit a volley from inside the box, but it was cleared off the line by Elliott Bennett to keep Bristol ahead at the break.
