Brighton & Hove Albion, Blackpool finish level

Brighton & Hove Albion share a 1-1 draw with Blackpool at the Amex Stadium in the Championship.

Brighton & Hove Albion have shared a 1-1 draw with Blackpool in their Championship match at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.

Isaiah Osbourne looked to give the visitors an early goal, but his fourth-minute effort was deflected just wide.

Leonardo Ulloa played the ball in for Jesse Lingard, but the on-loan striker drifted offside, denying him the chance to get his shot away.

The home side broke the deadlock at the start of the second half as Dale Stephens curled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box less than a minute after the restart.

Their lead lasted less than five minutes though as Stephen Dobbie smashed the ball in with a powerful strike from the edge of the area to level the scores.

Dobbie came close to adding a second as the ball was played in again by the visitors, but this time his finish was high and wide.

The visitors continued to push as they looked to take the lead, with Tony McMahon sending in a low drive, but Tomasz Kuszczak made the save.

Chances remained at a premium for much of the second half before Ulloa tried to set up William Buckley for the winner inside the final three minutes, but the winger sent his shot just high.

The result ends a run of four defeats for the visitors, but they remain in the relegation zone, while Brighton keep hold of the final playoff place.
