Brighton lineup vs. Tottenham: Predicted XI for Premier League contest

Boosts and blows: How Brighton could line up against Tottenham

Brighton & Hove Albion fans have received good and bad news on the injury front ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls are bidding to bounce back from their first defeat under Fabian Hurzeler, who witnessed Cole Palmer score four first-half goals past his side in a 4-2 win for Chelsea last weekend.

No fewer than eight players missed that game, but Joel Veltman (illness), James Milner (thigh), Brajan Gruda (unspecified) and Solly March - who has been sidelined for a year with a knee injury - are all in contention to play on Sunday.

However, Joao Pedro (ankle), Matt O'Riley (ankle) and Jan Paul van Hecke (unspecified) are all still absent, and Hurzeler could not guarantee that Simon Adingra would be fit for the visit of Spurs either.

The fit-again Veltman could demote Ferdi Kadioglu as one of two defensive changes on the hosts' end, as Igor replaced Adam Webster before the hour mark against Chelsea and may now partner Lewis Dunk from the first whistle.

Jack Hinshelwood and Carlos Baleba - the latter of whom scored and assisted in the Stamford Bridge defeat - should line up in midfield again, but Mats Wieffer is still finding his feet in England and may lose out to a more attack-minded option in Julio Enciso.

Georginio Rutter's goal against Chelsea surely means that his spot is safe from the threat of Yankuba Minteh, though, while Danny Welbeck and Kaoru Mitoma are primed to complete an unchanged front three.

Brighton & Hove Albion possible starting lineup: Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Igor, Estupinan; Enciso, Baleba, Hinshelwood; Rutter, Welbeck, Mitoma
