Locadia delighted with Brighton switch

New Brighton & Hove Albion signing Jurgen Locadia has admitted that it is "a dream" to secure a transfer to the Premier League.

On Friday night, Brighton announced that they had paid a club-record fee to sign Locadia from PSV Eindhoven, where he had netted nine times in 15 games this season.

Locadia has previously been linked with a transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the Dutchman has suggested that he only ever had eyes on a switch to the top flight.

The 24-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's a dream. I'm glad I'm in the Premier League right now. I'm obsessed with football and watch every game from the Premier League – it's a great feeling to be a part of it. I'll bring power, pace, goals and assists.

"Davy Propper told me it's a nice club with warm people. Everyone is connected to one another. It was a nice move for him and he told me to come and join him."

Locadia was not signed in time to face Chelsea at the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
