Brentford lineup vs. Arsenal: Predicted XI for Premier League London derby after defensive boost

One change in midfield: How Brentford could line up against Arsenal

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Brentford could line up for Saturday's Premier League London derby against Arsenal.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank is expected to be working with an identical or perhaps strengthened squad for Saturday's Premier League London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Bees played out a praiseworthy 0-0 draw with Chelsea last weekend, a game that saw left-back Rico Henry return to the squad for the first time since January following a hamstring injury.

However, as the 27-year-old has played just twice this season - having also spent a considerable amount of time out with a knee problem - he will certainly not come into contention for a starting role just yet.

As a result, Keane Lewis-Potter - one of the standout stars in the Chelsea stalemate - should continue to bomb down the left flank as part of an unchanged backline with Sepp van den Berg, Nathan Collins and Kristoffer Ajer.

Ben Mee and Ethan Pinnock are both waiting in the wings in case Frank decides to go for a back five at the Emirates, but the Brentford boss can alternatively make his side more defensive by just making the one change in midfield.

Christian Norgaard and Yehor Yarmoliuk paired up in the engine room against Chelsea, but the latter could now make way for the more experienced Vitaly Janelt.

Yarmoliuk is also an option in the number 10 slot, but Mikkel Damsgaard has made that position his own and is expected to continue with Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Kevin Schade in the final third.

Fabio Carvalho (shoulder), Igor Thiago (knee) and former Gunner Josh Dasilva (knee) remain out, while Aaron Hickey and Gustavo Nunes will certainly not start even if they can prove their fitness.

Brentford possible starting lineup:
Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa
