Brentford's Sam Saunders, Mark Warburton sweep December League One awards

Brentford's Sam Saunders and Mark Warburton have won League One's Player and Manager of the Month for December.

The Bees surged to the top of the table in December with four victories out of four and the impact of Saunders and Warburton has been recognised.

Winger Saunders provided three assists and two goals for the Bees while it was a dream first month in charge for Warburton, who replaced Uwe Rosler after he left for Wigan Athletic in the Championship.

Warburton has emulated Rosler in winning the managerial prize for a second straight month for Brentford.
