How are Brentford's players performing out on loan?

With the 2022-23 season having been halted due to the September international break, Sports Mole takes a look at how Brentford's loan players are performing away from their parent club.

Brentford went into their first season in the Premier League last year having built a squad capable of survival and one which would have been able to be used in the Championship should they have been relegated.

Having comfortably retained their top-flight status, Thomas Frank made a number of high-profile additions in the summer transfer window in a bid to further cement their place among English football's elite.

However, with Brentford operating with a 'B' team rather than a traditional Under-21 setup, many of their prospects and fringe players have needed to be found a temporary home.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how those squad members in question are faring in their stints away from West London.

WHICH PLAYERS ARE FINDING IT BENEFICIAL?

Mads Bidstrup needs game time after dropping down the pecking order at the Brentford Community Stadium, and the Dane is receiving it in his homeland with Nordsjaelland, making nine appearances in the top flight.

Tariqe Fosu-Henry has been allowed to link up with Stoke City where four starts and three substitute outings have come in the Championship.

Daniel Oyegoke is gaining valuable experience at League One outfit MK Dons, the right-back making five starts and three appearances from the bench.

Myles Peart-Harris is finding his feet at Forest Green Rovers, making five starts in the same division, while Paris Maghoma and Nathan Young-Coombes are enjoying their stints with AFC Wimbledon.

The former has made eight starts for the fourth-tier side, while the latter has contributed three goals and two assists from the same amount of matches.

Lachlan Brook has one goal to his name from six outings for Crewe Alexandra in League Two, the Australia Under-23 international's first taste of senior football in England.

WHICH PLAYERS NEED MORE TIME?

Goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe has been sidelined for Crawley Town since suffering an injury in the first game of the season, and will have to work to regain his spot.

Fin Stevens will be relatively content with his progress at Swansea City, already making three substitute outings since his switch on September 1.

Joel Valencia has been eased into life at Dutch second tier side De Graafschap, featuring on three occasions from the bench.

Meanwhile, Mads Bech Sorensen is yet to make an appearance for Nice, but the Dane could prove to be a valuable squad member over the course of the season.

WHO MAY NEED TO RETURN TO THE BRENTFORD COMMUNITY STADIUM IN JANUARY?

Halil Dervisoglu has only featured for two minutes as a substitute in Burnley's last Championship game, and there are signs that he may only remain as a fringe member of the squad.
