Hulk: 'I want to please coach not fans'

Brazil striker Hulk says that he is focusing on what Luiz Filipe Scolari asks him to do in the Confederations Cup rather than impressing the fans.

Hulk has said that he will be concentrating on doing what Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari asks of him rather than looking to impress the fans at the Confederations Cup.

The Brazilians are hosting the tournament as a rehearsal for next year's World Cup, with the first match taking place later today.

The 26-year-old striker told FIFA.com: "My main concern is to do my job properly, like I've been doing up to now. I'll be trying to be as focused as possible and do what the coach asks me to. I won't necessarily go into the game thinking about how I can win over the fans.

"Little by little, without getting carried away or trying to take shortcuts, we managed to pick up a great result in our last game. We've got total freedom to swap positions and it's been working for us, and that's not just Neymar and I, it applies to all the forward players.

"If I were to win them over, the way I'd like to do it is like this, through my performances on the pitch, by giving it my best, and that's what I intend to do."

Brazil face Japan in Brasilia this evening.
