Wolverhampton Wanderers grab 2-1 victory over Bradford City

Wolves beat Bradford City

Wolverhampton Wanderers have beaten Bradford City 2-1 in League One this afternoon, thanks to first-half goals from James Henry and Richard Stearman.

The home side went ahead with just 14 minutes played as Kyel Reid's cross found Raffaele de Vita, who crashed the ball home with his left foot.

Wolves almost hit back minutes later, but a Leigh Griffiths effort crept just wide of the post.

The visitors did manage to grab their equaliser in the 28th minute, however, as Henry let fly from outside the area, with the effort creeping underneath the City goalkeeper.

Stearman then gave his side the lead, heading in a cross from Henry in the 32nd minute to leave Wolves 2-1 ahead at the break.

Griffiths tried to push his side further ahead after half time, but his effort was met with an equally good save to keep the score at 2-1.

City's Nahki Wells did well from a tight angle as his side searched for an equaliser, while Nathan Doyle wasted a good opportunity going into the final stages of the game.
