Phil Parkinson "delighted" by another Bradford City shock

Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson expresses his delight at seeing his team beat Sunderland to cause another upset in the FA Cup.

Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson has expressed his delight after seeing his side cause another upset in the FA Cup against Sunderland.

The Bantams followed up their recent win over Chelsea with a 2-0 victory at home to the Black Cats in the fifth round on Sunday.

Parkinson believes that keeping the "underdog spirit" helped his team to progress at the expense of Gus Poyet's men.

"I am obviously delighted with the way we played," Parkinson told BBC Sport. "We did the right things in the right areas of the pitch. Defensively we were outstanding today.

"There is always a danger because the expectancy might have been we would win this one after beating Chelsea but we have kept that underdog spirit. It was a good, old-fashioned cup tie, a really good advert for the FA Cup."

The draw for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup will take place on Monday.
