Report: Steve Cook close to agreeing new deal with Bournemouth

Steve Cook is reportedly close to agreeing a new contract with Bournemouth ahead of the new season.

Bournemouth have reportedly edged a step closer to securing Steve Cook's services for the foreseeable future.

Cook's impressive displays in the Championship last season are believed to have attracted interest from a number of clubs, including teams in the Premier League, but he looks likely to hand the Cherries a boost by signing a new deal.

According to Sky Sports News, talks between the 23-year-old and club officials are at an advanced stage, with an announcement regarding his future expected to arrive in the coming days.

Cook's current deal expires next summer, but it remains unclear how long the new contract is for the former Brighton & Hove Albion defender.
