Report: Bournemouth admit Demarai Gray defeat

Bournemouth have reportedly admitted defeat in their deadline-day efforts to sign Birmingham City starlet Demarai Gray.

The Cherries saw an improved £5m bid for the highly-rated 18-year-old knocked back this afternoon, having previously failed in earlier attempts.

Speculation is rife that Birmingham are holding out for at least £7m but, according to the Daily Mail, the Championship leaders will not prolong their interest.

The midfielder, who joined City as a 10-year-old back in 2006, is out of contract with the Blues this summer.
