Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn prioritises squad investment

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn says that investment in the playing squad will be the priority as the Cherries prepare for their debut Premier League season.

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has said that the club will make investment in the playing squad their priority as they prepare for their debut Premier League season.

The Cherries will play in the top flight for the first time in their history next term after Eddie Howe's side won the Championship title.

Mostyn has previously explored the option of expanding the Goldsands Stadium, but the Bournemouth chief admits that he is cautious over improving the ground at the expense of the team.

"We need to make sure that we put the majority of our investment into the team, so that we can retain our Premier League position," he told BBC Sport.

"Rather than expand the ground and you've seen other clubs who have suffered the consequences."

Bournemouth's stadium currently holds 11,700 spectators.
