Joshua King pens new Bournemouth deal until 2020

Bournemouth announce that forward Joshua King has signed a new four-year deal at the Vitality Stadium, tying him to the club until 2020.

Bournemouth striker Joshua King has been handed a new long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium just one year after signing for the club.

The 24-year-old moved to Eddie Howe's side from Blackburn Rovers last season on a three-year deal, ahead of their first ever campaign in the Premier League.

He went on to score six goals in 31 top-flight appearances last term, prompting the Cherries to tie him down for four more years.

In a statement on the club's website, King said: "I'm very delighted. I came here because of the gaffer and I've been with him here a year now. I just have a big belief in him and I know that he's the best manager with his staff to improve me as a football player.

"The gaffer is asking more of me than what has ever been asked of me by any manager, with how much running we do and the work ethic in every training session. That's just going to improve every player.

"We're a young squad, with a young manager and young staff. We're all just working for each other and that's the most important thing. "This is where I want to be and this is where I want to develop."

Bournemouth face Manchester United in their season opener on Sunday.
