Bournemouth's Matt Ritchie: 'We need to forget about last season'

Bournemouth star Matt Ritchie has insisted that the team need to move on from last season's achievement as they try to get to grips with the Premier League.

The Cherries earned promotion by winning the Championship in the 2014-15 campaign, but their first season in the top flight began with a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

"Last season has gone," Ritchie told the Daily Echo. "It was a great achievement to win promotion but we need to look to the future. We all did our jobs and were rewarded with the title, but you have to keep performing."

Bournemouth's next game is away to Liverpool at Anfield on Monday.
