Jonas Hofmann joins Mainz 05 on loan

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jonas Hofmann has joined fellow Bundesliga side Mainz 05 on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old, who made four starts for Die Borussen last season, is hopeful that his move to the Coface Arena will lead to more game time.

"I am looking forward to my time in Mainz and the prospect of being able to make a contribution in the Bundesliga," Hofmann is quoted as saying by Sportal. "I'm sure we will have a successful time together."

Mainz are currently 10th in the league table having drawn their opening two games of the season.
