Preview: Werder Bremen vs. Borussia Dortmund

Sports Mole takes a closer look at both sides ahead of Saturday's game between Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund.

Very few would have imagined that Borussia Dortmund vs. Werder Bremen would be a meeting between two of the Bundesliga's bottom three at this stage of the season.

As each week passes, the expectation grows on Dortmund to get back to their best, but Jurgen Klopp has been unable to work his magic, despite the backing of his loyal supporters.

On Wednesday, the performance was promising for Dortmund, but the result would ultimately be disappointing as Wolfsburg scored late on to earn a 2-2 draw at Signal Iduna Park.

Klopp's side now have just one more chance to end 2014 on a high note, and Klopp could be tempted to make changes once again.

Bremen's own struggles continued in midweek as they suffered a 4-1 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach.

A win for Bremen could be enough to take them out of the relegation zone if other results go their way, but Viktor Skrypnyk will not be able to select Luca Caldirola, who is suspended after being sent off against Gladbach.

Dortmund are once again set to be without Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but there could be a recall for Shinji Kagawa as Klopp looks to freshen up his attack again.
