Borussia Dortmund have reportedly made Mario Gotze their highest-paid player in the history of the German club.
It was revealed on Tuesday that the 19-year-old had signed a two-year contract extension with the club until 2016, but according to Bild, his wages have been increased to almost £4m per year.
The value exceeds the amount earned by his teammates, and is four times larger than his previous salary.
Dortmund are also reportedly keen to tie 23-year-old midfielder Shinji Kagawa to a new deal within the next few days.
