Borussia Dortmund defender Lukasz Piszczek is ruled out for six weeks with an ankle injury.

Borussia Dortmund full-back Lukasz Piszczek has been ruled out for six weeks with an ankle injury.

The Polish defender was injured by a tackle from Paul Pogba in the 2-1 loss to Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with the 29-year-old requiring help as he left the field for further treatment.

It has now been confirmed that Piszczek will miss the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie, and he could be unavailable for around six Bundesliga games as Jurgen Klopp looks to improve his side's league position.

Dortmund meet local rivals Schalke 04 at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday afternoon.
