Wheater rejoins Bolton on one-year deal

Bolton Wanderers defender David Wheater has rejoined the League One side on a one-year contract.

The 29-year-old, whose contract at the Macron Stadium expired in May, has agreed a new performance-based deal after impressing in pre-season.

Bolton manager Phil Parkinson told the club's website: "He has shown a real desire to help get the club going again. We're delighted to bring David back."

Wheater, who has family ties to the North-West, has made 118 appearances for the Trotters since joining from Middlesbrough in 2011.
