Team News: Joe Mason leads Bolton Wanderers line

Bolton boss Dougie Freedman opts for Joe Mason to lead his line at the expense of Jermaine Beckford in the visit of Middlesbrough today.

Bolton Wanderers striker Joe Mason is poised to lead the line for the Trotters in this afternoon's visit of Middlesbrough.

The Cardiff City loanee starts in favour of Jermaine Beckford, who scored in the 5-3 defeat to Leicester City on Sunday.

Mason is one of four changes made by manager Dougie Freedman, with Andre Moritz - who scored twice in the loss to the Foxes - dropping out, while Darren Pratley, Mark Davies and Chris Eagles come into the fold.

Meanwhile, Boro boss Aitor Karanka names five changes to his team from the 3-0 victory over Reading at the weekend.

Curtis Main and Mustapha Carayol lead the line for the Smoggies at the expense of Marvin Emnes and Lukas Jutkiewicz respectively, while Rhys Williams, Jacob Butterfield and Richard Smallwood also come in.

Shay Given, who recently penned an extension to his loan deal from Aston Villa, retain his selection between the sticks.

Bolton Wanderers: Lonergan; Baptiste, Mills, Knight, Ream; Pratley, Spearing, M Davies, Eagles, Lee; Mason

Middlesbrough: Given; Ayala, Williams, Smallwood, Butterfield; Gibson, Leadbitter, Friend, Adomah; Main, Carayol
