Preview: Sheffield Wednesday vs. Bolton Wanderers

Sports Mole previews this Saturday's Championship meeting between Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers.

Sheffield Wednesday will have one eye on the Championship playoff places when they host Bolton Wanderers at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon.

After making a promising start to his reign last season, Stuart Gray has turned his side into promotion hopefuls 25 games into the current campaign.

Three successive league wins have taken Wednesday up to ninth in the table, just four points outside of the top six.

Bolton take plenty of confidence into the fixture, too, having pulled away from the relegation zone under Neil Lennon, and there is renewed optimism among the supporters, who are now eyeing a possible top-half finish if their current form continues.

Lennon's side have lost just one of their previous 10 league games, but a draw and a loss in their most recent fixtures means that the visitors will be desperate to get back to winning ways this weekend.

Bolton could be forced into at least one change, with David Wheater set to replace Dorian Dervite, who is currently struggling with an injury he picked up in the draw with Leeds United.

Gray, however, is likely to name an unchanged side once again as he looks to close the gap on the teams in the playoff spots.

Sheffield Wednesday:

Form in Championship: WLLWWW
Form in all competitions: LLWWLW

Possible starting lineup: Westwood, Lee, Lees, Loovens, Dielna, Maghoma, Palmer, Semedo, Maguire, May, Nuhiu

Bolton:

Form in all competitions: DWWLWD

Possible starting lineup: Lonergan, Vela, Mills, Dervite, Ream, Trotter, Danns, Pratley, Feeney, Gudjohnsen, Heskey

Sports Mole says: 2-1
