David N'Gog calls on his teammates to show that the club can fight.

Bolton striker David N'Gog has told his teammates to show that the club can fight following their poor start to the season.

The Frenchman, who is expected to make his return to the starting lineup versus Aston Villa this weekend after spending over a month on the sidelines, insists that all teams go through difficult periods. It's up to them to show their character.

"I came here because I wanted to play and help the team to win games," he said. "Obviously this year we are having difficult times.

"That is when you roll up your sleeves and show some passion. When you are against the wall you have to show you can fight.

"I think in football there are always periods like this. We all face adversity at times, we cannot hide from that, but we have to show character and responsibility."

The 22-year-old has made nine appearances and scored one goal for the Trotters since arriving in the summer.
