Owen Coyle unhappy with penalty decision

Coyle unhappy with penalty decision

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has expressed his disgust at the performance of the match officials during his side's 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City last night.

Marlon King scored the winner from the penalty spot at St Andrew's early in the second half, after linesman Steven Copeland had flagged for an apparent foul by Trotters full-back Marcos Alonso.

"It was never a penalty in all the years I've played football," said Coyle. "[Goalkeeper] Adam Bogdan picks the ball up six yards before any alleged incident.

"I've seen it back and it's never a penalty. It's never even a soft penalty.

"That's three away [league] games now and three terrible decisions. At Burnley there was a clearly offside goal and these are obviously crucial turning points in the game."

Bolton are yet to pick up a point on the road this season.
