Ream still new to FA Cup tradition

Bolton Wanderers defender Tim Ream has admitted that he had "little" knowledge of the FA Cup prior to his move to the Reebok Stadium.

Ream, who made his debut for the Trotters in the competition against Millwall a month ago, claims that coverage of the FA Cup was "unheard of" in the US when he was growing up.

"I watched little football on TV other than the big ones," he said. "It just wasn't televised. Football doesn't get much coverage [in the United States] although it is getting better.

"When I was growing up it just wasn't on television, other than the major tournaments – the World Cup, sometimes the Euros. To have an FA Cup game on would be unheard of."

Ream is expected to start for Bolton at Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup this afternoon.
