Rolando Bianchi strike earns Bologna a point against Napoli

Bianchi strike earns Bologna a point

Rolando Bianchi scored a late equaliser as Bologna held Napoli to a 2-2 draw in their Serie A meeting at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

The home side had the first opportunity of the afternoon when Cesare Natali headed Alessandro Diamanti's free kick over the bar after being picked out unmarked in the middle.

Diamanti was proving to be a threat for Bologna and Bianchi narrowly headed the midfielder's cross wide.

In the 37th minute, the same duo combined to score for the home side. Diamanti picked up the ball on the left-wing, before curling in a cross that Bianchi met with his head to flick into the corner of the net.

After the break, Gonzalo Higuain should have equalised for Napoli, but after being picked out at the back post by Jose Callejon, he headed wide.

He made up for that miss a few minutes later by firing a penalty into the top corner of the net following Panagiotis Kone's foul on Blerim Dzemaili inside the box.

With 10 minutes left to play, Napoli scored their second of the game. Higuain played in Callejon, who took a touch before firing an effort across the keeper and into the bottom corner.

Dries Mertens tried his luck for the visitors with a long range free kick, but Gianluca Curci tipped his strike over the bar.

The home side's task of getting back into the game was made even harder when Kone was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card.

In the final minute of the match, Bologna equalised when Rolando Bianchi was picked out at the back post following a corner and he rifled a strike into the back of the net.
