Michael Appleton believes that Blackpool deserved their point at Crystal Palace.

Blackpool manager Michael Appleton has insisted that his side were worthy of their point in the pulsating 2-2 draw at high-flying Crystal Palace.

Appleton, who saw his side lead in the first half against former manager Ian Holloway, said that the first-half showing alone meant that his side deserved at least a point.

"I'm sure some players get themselves up for different games, former managers or clubs, and I thought we dealt with them reasonably well," Sky Sports News quotes Appleton as saying.

"I would have been desperately disappointed not to take anything out of the game after having played so well in the first half. I knew they would improve in the second half and it was difficult for 10 or 15 minutes.

"Just before we got an equaliser, you could see a bit of momentum building. Once we got that, I thought we could have gone on and got the winner."

Blackpool are 11th in the Championship with the point.
