Adam: ‘I want to play in the Premier League’

Charlie Adam has revealed that he will not be satisfied remaining at Bloomfield Road to play Championship football.

Keen to retain Adam, Blackpool have activated a clause in his contract giving him another year at the club, although the midfielder is hoping for a transfer back to the Premiership.

“I hope a Premiership club comes in for me and they agree a fee with Blackpool,” he told Daily Record. “It would be nice if any business between myself and the club can be conducted amicably.”

However, he stressed that he has only fond feelings for the club. “I really can’t thank Blackpool enough,” he continued. “I wasn’t playing for Rangers and they took a gamble on me. They helped build up my confidence as it was low at the time.”

“I’d like to think I have repaid them in many ways and that they have been please with their investment in me.”

The Scottish international was the subject of unsuccessful bids from various Premiership clubs in the January transfer window.
