West Ham eye Yakubu switch?

West Ham United are thought to be considering a move for Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu.

Despite scoring 17 league goals last season, the 29-year-old was unable to stop Rovers getting relegated from the Premier League.

The Nigerian could now be back in the top flight if the Hammers meet the £1m release clause in his contract, according to The Sun.

Yakubu, who moved to Ewood Park from Everton in 2011, still has two years left on his current deal.
