Steve Kean given 18-month driving ban

Blackburn manager Steve Kean has been banned from driving for 18 months after pleading guilty to being drunk at the wheel.

Kean was twice over the limit when he was caught by police in May, just hours after his side played Man Utd.

The 43-year-old, who was also fined £1,800, applied for "special reasons" to escape the ban, claiming that his drink had been spiked.

Macclesfield Magistrates' Court rejected the reasoning, saying that he had failed to provide adequate proof.

Blackburn's new campaign got off to a disappointing start on Saturday when the team lost 1-2 at home to Wolves.
