Benjani Mwaruwari to remain with Blackburn Rovers next season

Benjani Mwaruwari insists that he will remain at Ewood Park despite appearing on the released list.

Benjani Mwaruwari has revealed that he expects to remain at Blackburn Rovers for another season.

The former Zimbabwean international captain had been named on the released players list, but has now said that manager Steve Kean has offered a new one-year contract.

“I will be back at Blackburn Rovers again next season,” he told the Lancashire Telegraph. “I think the deal will be finalised in the next few days and then I can look forward to doing my best with the club.

“I don’t know if there were other clubs who wanted me, because I always wanted to come back to Blackburn. I hope that will be sorted now.”
