Akwasi Asante signs new Birmingham City contract

Birmingham City forward Akwasi Asante has put pen to paper on a new contract at the Championship club.

The Amsterdam-born 20-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues, but he is believed to be held in high regard by manager Lee Clark.

Asante has signed a 12-month deal, which includes an option for a further year.

He told BluesTV that he is "hoping to make an impact" on first-team affairs during the coming season.
