Kevin Davies is left out of the Birmingham City squad while goalkeeper Colin Doyle misses out in favour of Boaz Myhill.

Birmingham City's Curtis Davies has no place in the squad to face Club Brugges in the Europa League despite travelling with the team.

While the defender is still recovering from a knee injury, Steven Caldwell captains the Championship side in place of injured Stephen Carr.

Goalkeeper Colin Doyle starts on the bench despite playing for the Blues against Maribor in the club's previous European tie.

Manager Chris Hughton has placed Nikola Zigic upfront in an attempt to secure points for the Group H clash.

The former Premier League side can go joint-top with leaders Club Brugge if they defeat their Belgian opponents.

Birmingham City starting XI: Myhill; Spector, Ibanez, Caldwell, Murphy; Burke, Fahey, N'Daw, Elliott; Zigic, Rooney

Club Brugge starting XI: Coosemans; Hogli, Almeback, Donk, Vansteenkiste; Odjija Ofoe, Zimling, Rafaelov, Dirar; Blondel, Akpala
