An expectant home crowd will welcome Wayne Rooney for the first time as Birmingham City host Hull City in a tasty-looking clash on Wednesday night in the Championship.

The Blues commenced their campaign following the October international break with a narrow loss at Middlesbrough, whereas Hull's home struggles continued against recently-relegated Southampton on the weekend.

We say: Birmingham City 2-2 Hull City

Birmingham might be one of the division's great entertainers for the rest of the campaign as Rooney attempts to implement an attractive style of play, however that may not immediately translate to points for the Blues.

Hull will be happy to have a chance to put Saturday's disappointment behind them quickly, and we are backing the Tigers to earn a draw at St Andrew's in this one.

Bristol City vs. Ipswich (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Ipswich Town make the trip to Bristol City on Wednesday night looking to keep pace with Leicester City at the top of the Championship table.

At a time when the visitors sit in second position, the home side have recently moved into eighth spot courtesy of two wins from their last three fixtures.

Although Bristol City are on a high from their win over Coventry, Ipswich are well-rested and full of confidence themselves. While the extended break may mean that there are some cobwebs to blow away, we still expect the Tractor Boys to secure another three points.

Plymouth vs. Sheff Weds (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Two of the Championship's newly-promoted sides will square off in an important contest at the bottom end of the Championship table on Wednesday, as Sheffield Wednesday travel south to take on Plymouth Argyle.

The visitors will continue their search for a first league win of the season, having only managed three points from their opening 12 games, while their hosts sit 21st with just a four-point lead over the relegation zone.
