Besiktas 'turn to Mikel after Lucas collapse'

Besiktas will reportedly try to sign Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel after their proposed deal with Liverpool's Lucas Leiva fell through.

The Brazilian was expected to make the move to Turkey before the end of the transfer window next week, but Liverpool made a U-turn and opted to keep hold of him.

Mikel, who is facing limited minutes on the pitch at Stamford Bridge this season, has now become Besiktas' top target, according to the Daily Mail.

Mikel has been a Chelsea player for the last nine years.
