Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller has been confirmed as a new player for Vancouver Whitecaps.
Back in March, it was revealed that the legendary attacker would be bringing his 25-year stint with the Bundesliga giants to an end.
Despite making a total of 49 appearances in 2024-25, the 35-year-old was allowed to depart the Allianz Arena on a free transfer at the end of the Club World Cup.
While discussions with different clubs were largely kept quiet, the former 131-cap Germany international would not have been short of opportunities around the world.
However, on Wednesday evening, it was announced that he would be signing for MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps on a contract until December 2026.

Muller comments on Vancouver Whitecaps transfer
The Canadian giants stated that Muller was arriving by "special delivery" as he joins to strengthen their challenge at the top of the Western Conference table.
Muller told the club's official website: "I’m looking forward to coming to Vancouver to help this team win a championship.
"I’ve heard great things about the city, but first and foremost I’m coming to win. I’ve had great conversations with Axel Schuster and Jesper Sørensen, and now I can’t wait to play in front of the supporters and to see all of the fans come out to BC Place as we head towards the playoffs.”
Whitecaps FC CEO & sporting director Axel Schuster added: "Thomas is a world-class player – the ultimate Raumdeuter “Interpreter of space” – known for his elite chance creation, unmatched spatial awareness, and relentless off-the-ball movement.
"He not only brings a winning pedigree and exceptional football intelligence, but also a tireless work ethic that will elevate the entire team. Thomas is a natural leader whose passion for the game is infectious. This is a statement signing by our club and our ownership – a transformative moment for our club and our city."

Who is Muller joining at Vancouver Whitecaps?
With 250 goals and 276 assists from 756 appearances for Bayern Munich, Muller is expected to slot straight into the Vancouver XI once match-fit.
The Whitecaps are lacking international star names, but United States international Brian White is the standout attacker with 11 goals in MLS during 2025.
Jesper Sorensen - formerly of Danish club Brondby - is the head coach and has transformed a team that finished in eighth position in the Western Conference last season.
This time around, the Whitecaps are second and have a game in hand on leaders San Diego FC while trailing by just the one point.
