Pep Guardiola plays down Raphael Varane talk

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has played down reports linking the German club with a move for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

It has been speculated that Bayern are preparing a £32m offer for the 21-year-old centre-back, but Guardiola has claimed that that report is wide of the mark.

"Marca don't have my number, maybe they have Jorge Mendes's (Varane's agent) number. Of course that's wrong," Guardiola told reporters.

Varane has also been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks.
