Olivier Giroud confirms Bayern Munich talks

Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud has confirmed that his agent has held discussions with Bayern Munich regarding a potential transfer to the Allianz Arena.

The German club are believed to be keen on bolstering their goalscoring options in the summer to elevate some of the pressure from Mario Gomez.

Following Giroud's revelations, it appears that the search has ended with the French international.

"I haven't spoken with Bayern Munich personally, but my agent has been in touch with them," the 25-year-old told Bild.

"Bayern Munich are very well-known in France because of all the positive experiences other French players have had there.

"They have all said how well they were received at Bayern, and how happy they were at the club."

Giroud has also been linked with moves to Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United.
