Bayern Munich rival Liverpool for Fiorentina star?

Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have emerged as rivals to Liverpool for the signature of Fiorentina ace Juan Manuel Vargas, reports suggest.

According to talkSPORT, the 28-year-old midfielder is said to be keen on a new challenge and has been valued at around £15m.

Liverpool have been continually linked with the Peruvian international, however it seems that he could now be tempted by offers from elsewhere.

Vargas, who can also operate as a winger, moved to Florence from Catania in 2008.
