Thiago Alcantara back in full training

Thiago Alcantara back in full training

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Thiago Alcantara has resumed full training after more than two months out with an ankle injury.

The Spanish playmaker sufferedtorn ankle ligaments in only his second appearance for Bayern against Nuremberg in August, with a screw placed in his right ankle to ensure a quick recovery.

After having the screw removed in early October the 22-year-old finally rejoined his Bayern teammates for a full training session on Monday afternoon, taking part in a short passing and shooting drill with those not on international duty.

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola will now hope to have the schemer fit and available for next weekend's showdown with arch rivals Borussia Dortmund, which takes place on November 23.

Guardiola will likely use Thiago to fill the void left by Bastian Schweinsteiger, who is expected to be out until 2014 due to tendonitis in his ankle, which requires corrective surgery.
