Diego Maradona: 'Pep Guardiola is guaranteed to succeed in Germany'

Former Argentina manager Diego Maradona has insisted that Pep Guardiola will enjoy success with Bayern Munich.

Guardiola will replace Jupp Heynckes in July and Maradona believes that the German club are guaranteed to succeed with the 42-year-old in charge.

"He will win titles in his first year with Bayern," the 52-year-old told Marca.

"Bayern are happy as they are guaranteed [success]. Pep is number one, no matter where he is."

Maradona is also rumoured to be close to a move to European football, with Montpellier reportedly eager to appoint the Argentine as their new manager.
