Bayern Munich are allegedly keen to appoint former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri as a replacement for boss Nico Kovac.

Bayern Munich have reportedly identified Massimiliano Allegri as a potential replacement for manager Nico Kovac.

After Saturday's 5-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern sit in fourth position in the Bundesliga standings, four points adrift of leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

While Kovac could potentially keep his job for next weekend's showdown with Borussia Dortmund, Corriere dello Sport claims that Bayern are looking to make a change in the dugout.

The report says that the German giants are keen to hold discussions with Allegri, who is currently on sabbatical after ending his successful stint with Juventus during the summer.

The Italian has been strongly linked with an eventual move to the Premier League, although Bayern's interest may lead to a change of career path.
