Half-Time Report: Bayern Munich narrowly leading Borussia Dortmund

Bayern narrowly leading Dortmund

Bayern Munich have established a 2-1 half-time lead over Borussia Dortmund in Sunday's Bundesliga clash at the Allianz Arena.

The hosts took the lead in the 26th minute when Jerome Boateng's long ball to Thomas Muller allowed the striker to beat the offside trap and with a straightforward route to goal, which saw him get the better of the advancing Roman Burki and tap home.

Eight minutes later Pep Guardiola's charges were given a sterling chance to double their advantage, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan's foul on Thiago in the box prompting the referee to gift them a penalty.

Muller stepped up to the spot and duly sent Burki the wrong way with a firm shot to the right of goal for his second - and his side's second - of the game.

Dortmund succeeded in halving the deficit just moments later, however, as Gonzalo Castro reached the right side of the box before rolling the ball to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who slotted home for his 10th league goal of the season.
