Half-Time Report: Bayern Munich cruise into comfortable lead over Hamburger SV

Bayern cruising against Hamburger SV

A dominant first-half display from Bayern Munich seen them take a 3-0 lead over Hamburger SV at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern started the game strongly, and could have been ahead when Thomas Muller forced his way into space inside the box to test Jaroslav Drobny with a powerful strike.

Pep Guardiola's side continued to dominate possession, but the hosts found it difficult to create space in the final third as the visitors dropped deep to defend.

However, Bayern were gifted the chance to break the deadlock when Ronny Marcos was adjudged to have handled inside the box, and Muller stepped up from 12 yards to finish emphatically and hand Bayern a deserved lead.

Their advantage was doubled less than a minute later when Drobny pushed another Muller effort out to Mario Gotze, who kept his composure to convert the rebound.

There was time for Bayern to add another nail into the Hamburg coffin before the break thanks to Arjen Robben, who cut inside from the right wing to evade two challenges and home a trademark 25-yard effort.
